The Alberta Arts district is located along Alberta Street, between NE 12th and
NE 33rd Streets. It’s officially in the Concordia neighborhood.
On the last Thursday of every month there is a street fair that takes place in
galleries and shops during the winter months, and outdoors during warmer
weather, with tables set up by local artisans and traveling merchants along the
sidewalk. Street performers and food carts also participate
in the street fair.
After 13 years of continuous growth, Last Thursday now attracts hundreds of
artists and artisans, as well as an estimated 15,000 people to a 20 block
segment of NE Alberta St.
Although the street does not close this month, if the weather is dry, artists
and performers will be out on the street selling their wares.
It is supported by the Friends of Last Thursday & Art on Alberta. (Their annual
festival in May, Art Hop, will not be held in 2011. However, the Alberta Street
Fair will be on August 13, 2011, run by Alberta Main Street & Alberta Street
Business Association.)
